Candle Care Instructions
We know you’re very eager to burn your Botanical candle. However before you do, there are a few very important things you need to remember. The first burn is the most crucial. Your candle must burn long enough to achieve a full melt pool to the edges of the vessel. As soy wax has memory, wax that has previously been melted will melt much faster. Therefore, if you don’t achieve a full melt pool every time you burn your candle, you create the risk of tunnelling.
Never burn your candle near an open window or door, as draughts can decrease burn time, cause uneven burning, smoking and affect scent throw. Always remember to trim your wicks to around 6mm before every burn. This is so important to ensure your candle lasts for as long as possible and to prevent the wick from mushrooming. If soot should form on the inside of the vessel, extinguish candle, wait for it to cool, then wipe with a clean damp cloth. Trim wick and relight.
Extinguish candle with a snuffer, or dip the wick into the melted wax and then straighten wick to prevent smoking and also prevent hot wax from splattering. Do not blow out.
Although we know you will want to burn your candle all day, everyday. Never burn for longer than 4 hours at a time. Not only can the vessel overheat, it also decreases the overall burn time of your candle.
Remember, your candle will still throw scent even after its extinguished.
